Toronto-listed Nevada Copper has replaced its mining contractor at the Pumpkin Hollow mine, in Nevada, with Redpath USA, which will now be the principal underground mining contractor for the project going forward.

The move comes as Pumpkin Hollow is ramping up to full capacity, having started production in December.

“Redpath is considered throughout the mining industry as the partner of choice for production ramp up and we are excited to be working with them during this important period of growth,” commented Nevada Copper CEO Matt Gili.

He added that Redpath was a highly experienced mining contractor with experience of delivering complex projects internationally and in Nevada, ahead of schedule and under budget.

The underground operation will produce 65-million pounds a year of copper-equivalent at an all-in sustaining cost of $1.86/lb, with possibilities for an expansion.

Its current mine life is 13.5 years of reserves, with a further 636-million pounds of inferred resources.
