Vehicle-recovery and fleet-intelligence company Netstar, a subsidiary of Altron, has appointed Nicky Sheridan to head up its sales division as the organisation’s new Sales Executive.

Sheridan will join Netstar in January 2022 and his immediate priorities will be to support the Netstar strategic goals around subscriber growth and improved customer intimacy.

“Nicky is very familiar with the channels and markets in which we operate and will add great value in strengthening these relationships and creating new ones,” says Netstar MD, Pierre Bruwer.

“I’m immensely excited to be joining Netstar because of the huge possibilities that technology innovation offers,” says Sheridan. “The transportation industry is evolving rapidly, and organisations need technology with which to transform to the needs of their customers and I believe Netstar is the partner of choice for Consumers, SMB’s and for large Commercial businesses alike. Netstar has constantly strengthened its position as a technology pioneer. The challenge is to keep innovating by listening to our customers and staying at the cutting edge of technology.”

Over the past few years, Netstar has improved the scope of its services and its product offerings, launching several innovative fleet-management and data-analytics solutions, as well as its IoT solution for all new Toyota vehicles with other automotive organisations in the pipeline too.

The emergence of new technologies in the 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT) space offers wonderful new opportunities for personal, business, and commercial customers.

Sheridan joins Netstar from Fiserv Africa, a leading payment-technology company. A graduate of University College Dublin, Sheridan is a Chartered Accountant by training, and has previously held senior positions at Oracle, EY and Software AG. He has lived in South Africa since 2005.

“One of the areas of expertise I bring to Netstar is the ability to help companies to get the best value from leading technologies and I’m especially enthused about the high growth opportunities offered in the IoT and data-analytics space.” says Sheridan. “I have also worked with global and regional industry stakeholders enabling effective and efficient communication. I value trust, loyalty and excellence and I am always available to support, motivate and guide my teams.”

“Nicky brings a wealth of experience to Netstar and we look forward to having him lead our sales team,” says Bruwer. “He is familiar with the technology landscape, and he will be a major contributor to our overall goal of reaching 2,5 million subscribers by 2025. He is a great addition to our team.”
