Project Description
The project aims to improve the R510, Section 2, from Bierspruit (6.4 km) to Thabazimbi (33.8 km).

The project will widen the existing carriageway and provide surfaced shoulders and passing lanes.

The project will strengthen the existing pavement by reworking existing layers. It will improve vertical and horizontal alignments and drainage, upgrade intersections, and lengthen and upgrade existing minor and major structures where there is insufficient capacity.

Potential Job Creation
The project will create about 100 new jobs.

About 30% of the contract value will be spent on targeted enterprises and 8% will be allocated to local labour.

Capital Expenditure
The contract is valued at R458-million.
