Project Description
The Nacala railway corridor project is intended to provide a logistics solution for the transportation of coal from the Moatize mine, in Mozambique’s Tete province, to the maritime terminal in Nacala, on the Indian Ocean, through a new 912-km-long railway corridor. The corridor will be able to carry up to 30-million tonnes a year of coal.

Kentz Engineers & Constructors has been contracted to undertake the structural, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation erection, as well as the provision of commissioning assistance required to construct the main stockyard equipment.
The contract is valued at $38-million.
Kentz will erect 13 km of interconnecting belt conveyors and assemble and install about 14 000 t of equipment, including tipplers, stackers, reclaimers and shiploaders. The contract is expected to be completed in November next year.
