The project entails the widening of the cross section of the N7, Section 8, for about 25 km and the construction of additional climbing lanes for improved road safety and ease of traffic flow.
Potential Job Creation
A minimum of 30% of the contract value of all projects is to be subcontracted to targeted enterprises to prioritise economic development opportunities for black-owned entities, including women- and youth-owned businesses and persons with disabilities.

Sanral recently awarded the construction contract to civil engineering construction company Martin & East.
Site mobilisation is expected to start soon, during which time the contractor will structure works packages that will be subcontracted to small, medium-sized and microenterprises.
