The new usage-based bandwidth server hosting solution – which complement MWEB Business’s standard range of uncapped server hosting offerings - are available from just R547 (incl VAT) per month. According to Hennie van Tonder, Head of Product at MWEB Business, there are four new server hosting packages which offer customers a choice of rack space and bandwidth options. This includes 1u, 10u, 20u and 42u rack space with the required flexibility where requested by customers.

Few businesses can afford to maintain their servers in a secure, stable and environmentally controlled environment to avoid server down-time. The cost is simply too high. “Now, with our new Capped Server Hosting solution, the controlled environment of a dedicated, shared data centre becomes an affordable option of small and medium businesses, including those thinking of exploring the benefits of cloud computing,” he says. In addition, the new capped offerings are ideal for businesses that have applications with lower-bandwidth requirements. They also provide a cost-effective alternative for pre-production and development environments.

Customers can sign up for the entry-level package – 1u of rack space and 10GB of bandwidth - and upgrade to the largest package – 42u rack space and 100GB bandwidth - as their needs change. Alternatively, they can switch to MWEB Business’ uncapped range of hosting solution options should this not be the most cost effective option or solution for their business needs. The availability of regular traffic usage reports enable customers to track their bandwidth usage. And until the end of June 2014, customers that sign up for one of the new packages will receive unlimited bandwidth usage. This will afford them an opportunity to evaluate more accurately how much bandwidth they are likely to require in the future.
