Name and Location
Mt Garnet tin project, Queensland, Australia.

Client
Consolidated Tin Mines.

Project Description
The Mt Garnet project will initially comprise three key deposits – Gillian, Pinnacles and Windermere.

The project has a total Joint Ore Reserves Committee-compliant resource of 13.12-million tonnes, grading 0.39% tin, 22.87% iron, 5.8% fluoride and a tin equivalent of 0.56%. This includes 1.1-million tonnes at 0.73% tin in the measured category at the Gillian deposit.

A prefeasibility study (PFS) completed on the Mt Garnet project, in North Queensland, has demonstrated the project’s economic and technical development potential.

The PFS is based on a one-million-tonne-a-year openpit operation, delivering ore to a one-million-tonne-a-year conventional flotation concentrator, which will remove the silica content before the ore is processed by means of conventional tin fuming using a rotary kiln.

The Mt Garnet concentrator is expected to produce an estimated 2 944 t/y of tin in concentrate at 68% tin, 234 970 t/y of iron in concentrate at 65% iron and 53 860 t/y of fluorite at 86% calcium fluoride in concentrate over a nine-year mine life.

Value
Total estimated capital to first production is A$76-million.

Duration
The aim is to achieve tin production by the end of 2014.

Latest Developments
Consolidated Tin has declared commercial copper production at the Mt Garnet concentrator, in Queensland.

Consolidated Tin has a 9.85% free carry interest in Snow Peak Mining’s Surveyor project and it manages the project, which includes the Mt Garnet concentrator.

Tin processing equipment will be introduced into the Mt Garnet concentrator to enable Consolidated Tin to start production from its own Mt Garnet tin project. It is expected that about one-million tonnes a year of tin ore will be processed at the concentrator.

Meanwhile, Consolidated Tin is continuing to progress the definitive feasibility study for the Gillian deposit, at Mt Garnet, and to progress its memorandum of understanding with Snow Peak regarding the ore treatment.
