Engineering and construction services firm Murray & Roberts' (M&R's) subsidiary Clough has been selected as the head contractor for the R2.5-billion redevelopment of the Lombrum naval base, in Papua New Guinea.

The project is a joint initiative of the Australian and Papua New Guinea governments.

It has been designed to benefit the local community and includes construction, support, maintenance and repair services at the naval base.

Clough has delivered projects in Papua New Guinea for over 35 years.
