Moroto Ateker Cement Co, a private–public partnership between Uganda Development Corporation (UDC ) (51%) and Savannah Mines (49%).
Project Description
The project involves the establishment of integrated lime (300 t/d), cement (1 250 t/d) and marble (11 000 m2 a month) plants in the Moroto district.
Potential Job Creation
The project is expected to create direct and indirect employment opportunities, including about 360 skilled and unskilled jobs, as well as 1 500 part-time jobs.
Capital Expenditure
The project is estimated at $210.99-million.
Planned Start/End Date
The project is expected to take about 18 months to complete from the start of construction.
