PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Mining has started at the Comet Vale gold project, in Western Australia.

ASX-listed Orminex on Tuesday said that its strategic partner, underground mining contractor GBF Mining has started work on a decline which marked the start of the 27-month mine plan.

The completed openpit provided the access for the portal and the decline development, the company said.

The project is estimated to host a mineral resource of some 750 000 t, at 8.4 g/t gold for 203 100 oz.
