Inductive IY/IZ type sensors from ifm detect end positions of small grippers and clamps and can be used to accurately monitor speed of gears and rotary movements. The miniature sensors are used in various industrial areas where space is limited, such as in machine tools, assembly automation and electronics production.

A longer sensing range makes it easier to position the sensors. The position detection is said to be reliable even in case of mechanical tolerance, avoiding accidental switching and increasing process reliability.

An M5 thread facilitates screwing in of the IY housing, while the IZ housing has a 4 mm smooth sleeve and can be fastened precisely using the corresponding holder. The housing has been specially developed for demanding industrial environments and offers durability and reliability.

Benefits of the IY/IZ type sensors include:

  • M5 housing or cylindrical smooth 4 mm housing for confined installation conditions
  • Longer sensing range for accurate and reliable position detection
  • High switching frequency for dynamic processes
  • Robust housing for demanding industrial environments
  • Simplified connection

An IP67 protection rating ensures reliable performance even under extreme conditions such as dust, moisture and vibrations, offering improved process stability and efficiency in a range of industrial sectors.
