Project Description
The project involves the construction of a 750 MW solar power plant in Riverside County, California.

The project will be built in two phases –Unit 1 and Unit 2.

Unit 1 will involve the construction of the initial 250 MW. Construction of Unit 2 will provide the additional 500 MW.

The preliminary design has 125, 2 MW solar fields associated with Unit 1, arranged on the eastern side of the solar plant site, and up to 250 solar fields for Unit 2, located west of Unit 1 within the plant site.

The construction of Unit 1 will include the access road; the water treatment system; the initial gen-tie, consisting of the support towers and first circuit; an operations and maintenance building; and a parking area.

Unit 1 is expected to be completed by August 2014 and construction on Unit 2, which will be completed by October 2016, will begin following the initiation of commercial operation of Unit 1 in August 2015.

First Solar has entered into an agreement with NextEra to construct a 250 MW solar power plant. The company will provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services, using its cadmium telluride photovoltaic thin-film modules.
