Project Description
The proposed power transmission lines project will increase the coverage of the national transmission grid and allow the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) to transmit electricity from impending 85-MW power plants and improve electricity access, reliability and quality of supply to consumers in Uganda.

The project will allow the migration of energy generated from a 50-MW thermal power plant, scheduled for commercial operation at the end of 2010, as well as 35 MW generated from mini hydro plants in the west of the region.
