Monitor Engineering, the sole agent for the US’s Spraying Systems in Southern Africa for over 55 years, recently opened its own sales office in Cape Town.

The company has traditionally worked through agents, but, owing to changes in the product range from originally just supplying standard spray nozzles to now also offering complete turnkey spray solutions in the form of automated lubrication systems, air knife blower packages, gas cooling systems, heated spray systems, coded spray injectors, Spraying Systems felt it would be ideal to have a local office in order to offer the necessary customer support for these products.

With its head office in Johan-nesburg, Monitor Engineering has, since its inception, offered spray products in the Southern African market for a variety of spray applications and industries, such as food and beverage, paper, steel and petrochemicals, tank wash, descaling, dust control, coating, evaporative cooling, spray drying, fire protection, spraying viscous liquids, washing and humidifying, besides others.

The company has a spray laboratory fully kitted with a conveyor with automatic spray guns, used to test coating applications, and a 25 hp blower with air knives, used to perform drying tests, besides others. This equipment can also be used for spray demonstrations and proof-of-concept trials at a customer’s facility.

Spray System Evaluation

Says a company spokesperson: “We also offer, at no charge, spray system evaluation . . . [and the] evaluations can focus on a specific area, such as reducing water or compressed air use, tank cleaning, automation opportunities and more.

“In operations like gas cooling, spray drying and coating, there is no room for error. “If spray performance is is not exactly right, product and process quality can be compromised dramatically. “In critical spray operations, our Spray Analysis and Research Services group, based in Chicago, is engaged to provide specialised testing in our spray labs, process modelling and/or fluid dynamics modelling. “Using advanced tools to simulate a customer’s operating environment enables us to accurately predict spay performance before finalising a design solution or product recommendations.”
