PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed junior Mantle Mining Corporation has reported a Joint Ore Reserves Committee-compliant resource of 248 000 t, grading 4.9 g/t gold and 13 g/t silver, at its Norton gold mine prospect, in Queensland.

Based on the resource estimate, the Norton mine was estimated to host about 38 800 oz of gold, of which 21 000 oz has been classified as indicated and 17 700 oz as inferred.

“We are extremely pleased with the outcome of this mineral resource estimate,” said Mantle MD Ian Kraemer.

The mineral resource was defined to a maximum depth of 150 m below the surface.

“This mineral resource places Mantle in an excellent position to continue to deliver on its stated objective of acquiring and moving gold projects into production for the benefit of all stakeholders,” Kraemer added.

The junior company noted that there remained potential for the identification of additional mineral resource within the tenement areas, which would require follow-up work that would include trenching and sampling, as well as possible drill testing of the best confirmed targets.
