Project Description
The project involves the construction of an affordable housing project adjacent to the Cosmo City development, north-west of the Johannesburg’s central business district.
The development will provide housing for more than 5 500 families in a sustainable mixed-use, integrated environment.
The project includes 3 240 low-income housing units, with rental rooms; 244 low-income free-standing houses; 669 finance-linked, partially subsidised or Gap houses; 604 bonded houses and 754 rental/social housing units.
The development will include other amenities and facilities, such as churches, clinics, open parks and schools, as well as commercial and retail opportunities, in accordance with government’s Breaking New Ground strategy.

R1.85-billion.
Duration
The project, which broke ground in March, will take five years to complete.
