Mad Dog Phase 2 project.

Location
The second Mad Dog platform will be moored about 10 km to the south-west of the existing Mad Dog platform, which is located in 1 371 m of water about 305 km south of New Orleans, in the US Gulf of Mexico.

Project Owner/s
BP (60.5%) and co-owners BHP Billiton (23.9%) and Union Oil Company of California, an affiliate of Chevron (15.6%).

Project Description
The project aims to bring a second platform to the supergiant Mad Dog field at less than half of the original cost.

Mad Dog Phase 2 will include a new floating production platform, with the capacity to produce up to 140 000 gross barrels of crude oil a day from up to 14 production wells. The project includes capacity for water injection.
