MacPherson adds to Nimbus resource
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Metals developer MacPhersons Resources has increased the silver resource at its Nimbus-Boorara silver/gold/zinc project, in Western Australia, by about 58%, to 20.2-million ounces.
Zinc resources estimates increased by 60%, to 104 000 t, and gold resource estimates increased by 66%, to 78 000 oz.
The ASX-listed company on Thursday announced a new resource of 12.1-million tonnes at the Nimbus project, grading 52 g/t silver, 0.2 g/t gold and 0.9% zinc.
“The Nimbus resource has continued to grow and we have identified new mineralisation lodes in the latest drilling campaign; we have commenced metallurgical testwork on these individual lode types,” said MacPhersons MD Morrie Goodz.
He pointed out that some 83% of the silver resource and 72% of the zinc resource at Nimbus were now estimated to be in the measured and indicated categories.
“The increased categorisation into measured and indicated resource has increased our confidence on the quality of the resource,” Goodz told shareholders.
The company meanwhile also reported a 47% increase in the gold resource at the Boorara deposit, increasing it to some 340 000 oz, of which 74% was also classified as either measured or indicated.
Previous scoping studies have indicated that the Nimbus project would require a total capital injection of between A$58-million and A$66-million, with all-in cash costs estimated at between A$12/oz and A$16/oz silver and between A$600/oz and A$1 050/oz gold.
