LONG ROAD AHEAD

3rd August 2018

Font size: - +

Eskom CEO Phakamani Hadebe only just managed to guide the utility through to the end of its horrific 2018 financial year, during which it nearly ran out of cash and almost had its bonds suspended. The journey ahead for Hadebe remains equally treacherous, as has already been seen from the false start to wage negotiations with trade unions. The next big milestone will undoubtedly be the publication of a new corporate plan in September, which will set the tone not only for the immediate future but, hopefully, also for the utility’s long-term sustainability.
