A new addition to the LEDlume XP range of luminaires has been unveiled.

The range offers flexible combinations of light emitting diode (LED) modules, with a choice of currents and dimming options, aimed at maximising energy savings and providing cost-effective lighting solutions.

BEKA Schréder announced the launch of the LEDlume-midi XP, part of the LEDlume XP range which includes the LEDlume-mini XP.

The company asserts that the LEDlume XP offers optimised photometrical performance with a minimum total cost of ownership, providing customers with the ideal tool to generate energy savings, improve lighting levels and reduce maintenance costs. The range of high-performance optics is designed to optimise the photometric distribution for each specific application, to achieve minimum energy consumption.

The LEDlume XP range uses the new LensoFlex 4 photometric engine, which has been developed based on the objectives of performance, compactness, versatility and standardisation.

The luminaire design is based on a three-compartment concept, consisting of an LED engine, power supply and spigot compartment. The design aims to allow for easy installation without jeopardizing the International Protection Marking rating of the luminaire. Furthermore, the hinging concept allows for easy replacement of the LED engine, if required, for maintenance or upgrades.

Features of the LEDlume XP range include:

  • Designed and manufactured in South Africa, with SADC Class S > 87% local manufacture
  • Designed to operate an LED light sources of up to 100 W in an ambient temperature (Tq) environment of up to 25 ˚C, without reducing the useful lifetime of 100 000 hours, at a lumen depreciation of not more than 10% (L90B10)
  • New generation LensoFlex4 photometric engine, providing maximum spacings for compliance with SANS 10098 road lighting classification, while maintaining comfort and safety
  • Marine grade, high-pressure die-cast aluminium housing
  • Maximised energy savings of more than 70% and reduced maintenance costs
  • Designed to incorporate future technology upgrades
  • Easy installation
  • Unsurpassed light uniformity
  • Surge protection 10 kV/10 kA

The luminaire range is suited to a number of applications, including road lighting, residential streets, security lighting and car park lighting.

BEKA Schréder has also recently introduced the Circle Light label. This label is based on the circularity concept, which focuses on reducing the burden on the environment by valorising the flow of all materials, in which products are part of a value network where they will be used for as long as possible. Products are reused, refurbished, upgraded or recycled wherever possible.

The Circle Light label designates products that are optimised for circular economy through twelve objective criteria. The LEDlume XP range has achieved a 4-star rating with the introduction of the Circle Light label, which means that it was developed to fully meet circular economy requirements.
