Linear actuators DFPC are double-acting pneumatic actuators that are optimised for the requirements of process automation and are specially designed to actuate media flow in process valves such as gate and pinch valves.

The linear actuator DFPC from Festo is designed to be sturdy and corrosion-resistant, allowing it to be used in water and wastewater treatment, mining and chemical industries. An additional  feature of the actuator is that it offers ISO 5210 and ISO 15552 interfaces, which means that it conforms to local and international standards, which potentially reduces engineering costs for expensive brackets and adaptors to fit a process valve.

The piston rods, screws, nuts and tie rods of the units are made of stainless steel, while the cylinder barrels and end caps are made of aluminium. In addition, the end-position cushioning on both sides enables high travel speeds and assures long service life and reliability.

The company asserts that its actuator is cost-effective and readily available in predefined standard versions that can be delivered quickly from stock. In addition, the DFPC can be individually configured based on various piston rod dimesions, spacer bolt length,  stroke and diameter.

The DFPC is currently available in sizes 80, 100, 125, 160 and 200 and Festo notes that other sizes will soon be available, to cover the majority of requirements in the process industry. Various accessories such as proximity sensors, cylinder mountings, Namur valves and linear potentiometers are also available.
