Project Description
The project will comprise two manufacturing facilities – one for cylindrical batteries for electric vehicles, with a capacity of 27 GWh, and another for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pouch-type batteries for energy storage systems (ESS), with a capacity of 16 GWh.

The new cylindrical battery plant aims to start mass production of 2 170 cells in 2025.

The new plant for LFP pouch-type batteries for ESS will be one of the first ESS-exclusive battery production facilities globally. The company’s new manufacturing facilities will use a state-of-the-art smart factory system that conducts all decision-making, based on machine-produced data.

$5.5-billion, comprising $3.2-billion for the construction of the cylindrical battery manufacturing facility and $2.3-billion for the LFP pouch-type battery facility.
