Leuze Retro-Reflective Sensor Can Detect Everything
This article has been supplied.
Company Announcement - The Leuze RK46C-VarOS retro-reflective photoelectric sensor is capable of detecting objects over an operating range of 0.4 to 5.2 metres, with a light band width of 45 to 50 mm. This is particularly significant in packaging systems and intralogistics where the sensor will effectively detect objects with various sizes and shapes, as well as surfaces with openings. Available from Countapulse Controls, the sole southern African distributor for Leuze, this innovative sensor has two adjustable sensitivity levels to ensure optimum flexibility in all applications. With an integrated automatic sensitivity readjustment capability, the Leuze RK46C-VarOS is able to detect objects even in the event of soiling and in changing environmental conditions. Even stretch-wrapped or shrink-wrapped objects are reliably detected.
Engineered for absolute accuracy, the Leuze RK46C-VarOS sensor can detect different object heights as well as varying pallet shapes and sizes. Curved and angled object edges are no match for the sensor which will also identify damaged pallets and protruding objects. This is because the unit is designed to view objects irrespective of whether the light band has been broken.
The accuracy and reliability of the sensor is underlined by the special lens which enables precise detection. Active ambient light suppression allows for the simultaneous use of one reflector for two sensors, thereby reducing mounting and material requirements. Configuration of the sensor is quick and easy, using the two-level teachme function that is activated by pushing a button on the rear of the housing. Similarly, the highly visible brightvision light band makes alignment a cinch.
Countapulse Controls is the leading southern African supplier of sensing, measurement, counting, switching, monitoring and positioning instrumentation. The company has the full backing of its German principals and offers a complete technical advisory service for the most effective use of its products in automotive and other branches of engineering.
