Project Description
The project will increase efficiency and diesel production at the Laurel refinery, in Montana. The investment consists of related projects to be completed in phases. The project includes a new hydrogen plant and crude unit modifications that will increase crude oil through-put and increase diesel production, and hyrocracker modifications that will increase diesel production, reduce production interruptions and enable the refinery to process additional crudes.

Latest Developments
Technip has been awarded a contract to provide proprietary technology and engi-neering, procurement and construc-tion for a 40 000-normal-cubic-metre-per-hour grassroots hydrogen plant at the Laurel refinery. The design will use Technip’s high-efficiency, top-fired steam reforming technology to ensure minimum emissions. The project will be completed in 2017.
