Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery has announced the launch of its new trade show Power Ex that will focus on power generation, transmission and distribution, application and renewable energy.

Power Ex is a premier showcase for the electric power and energy sectors and will provide a platform for exhibitors to deliver new products, services, technology and solutions to market. The show will take place from 12-16 September 2016 at the Expo Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa, alongside the highly renowned Electra Mining Africa, ranked as one of the world’s largest mining and industrial shows that hosts over 850 exhibitors occupying more than 38,000m² of exhibition space and draws over 34,000 visitors.

“We believe there is beneficial synergy between the new Power Ex trade show and Electra Mining Africa,” says Gary Corin, Managing Director of Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery, organisers of both shows. “Energy-intensive mining operations are under continued pressure to reduce dependence on traditional energy resources and decrease the significant draw on the country’s electricity grid infrastructure. Access to reliable and cost-effective forms of energy is a strategic priority for the global mining sector and the industry is increasingly looking at alternatives such as solar, wind and other renewable energy technologies. Power Ex will be offering solutions to address this.”

Power Ex visitors will be able to view the latest in products, technologies, services and solutions. Leading manufacturers and suppliers will be exhibiting and will include those involved in biofuels; boilers, heat exchangers, combustion systems; cable and wire; diesel and gas engines, equipment and services; energy technology; generators and all accessories; hydropower; lighting; metering and related components; renewable energy, equipment and services; sensors; solar power; switchgear and other related equipment; transformers; wind and gas turbines.

Electra Mining Africa will offer visitors the opportunity to see a broad range of products and services from mining, industrial, electrical, machine tools and related industries. Elenex Africa will feature electronics, electrical engineering, electro-mechanical components, instrumentation and control systems, lighting design and application, switch gears and drives, test and measuring equipment. Transport Expo will focus on trucking, transport and logistics related to mining and industrial.

Thousands of visitors are expected from across South Africa, neighbouring African countries and overseas visitors from as far as South America, USA, Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia. For many exhibitors, Electra Mining Africa is seen as a gateway into Africa for further business expansion.

Power Ex will be further supported by a programme of content-rich conferences and workshops. Running alongside the co-located exhibitions, they will focus on topical issues that will be of benefit to those involved in these industry sectors.

Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery is a member of the prestigious Montgomery Group, one of the most widely respected exhibition companies in the world with trade shows, consumer shows and specialist projects currently spanning Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
