Kwikspace recently supplied 12 prefabricated units to Garies High School, which needed an affordable and quick solution, after a section of its school burnt down. The school lost 11 classrooms and an admin block, which was quickly replaced by Kwikspace, in order for the learners to continue with their education in a safe space before their final exams.
The Northern Cape Department of Education contacted Kwikspace for immediate assistance just before the end of October’s school holidays. Each of the 11 classrooms, which can accommodate 45 learners, is 56 m2 and feature veranda, air conditioning, pinboards and writing boards to meet the Department’s requests. The admin block of 84 m2 includes toilets and a kitchenette. Both unit types were electrified upon delivery.
Kwikspace’s head office in Klipriver, Johannesburg dispatched 13 trucks to the Northern Cape to deliver the units. “We are proud to say that we fulfilled our client’s requirements within six working days, especially since the distance of almost 1 300 km is about a three-day one-way trip. The units will greatly benefit the Grade 12 learners who will mostly occupy these units at this pertinent time of year,” says Xolile Kubheka, Sector Manager, Kwikspace. “We are happy to be a preferred solution provider to various Departments of Education across the country. We believe that it’s due to our long list of unit benefits, some of which include fully insulated panels, little to no site preparation,100% relocatable features, and flexibility with the layout and features of the units.”
Kwikspace is Africa’s largest manufacturer of prefabricated modular buildings that serve as a quick and smart space solution for a wide range of applications.
