Project Description
The project will produce 50 000 kg/y of renewable hydrogen.
The demonstration plant will be powered only by renewable energy from the solar farm.
The project includes the co-location of a solar farm, battery, hydrogen electrolyser and hydrogen fuel cell, as well as hydrogen storage and an outloading facility.
Potential Job Creation
The project is expected to create 20 jobs during construction and will support local businesses and jobs.
Capital Expenditure
The Queensland government will provide A$28.9-million for the project.
Planned Start/End Date
Construction is expected to start in September 2022 once all relevant development approvals have been finalised, and is scheduled for operation in 2023.
