Kim Kirkland joins Element79
Kim Kirkland, a seasoned mining veteran with a track record spanning senior executive and lead engineering roles at some of the world’s biggest mining companies, has joined CSE-listed Element79 Gold as VP of global exploration.
Kirkland has been involved in the ramp-up of some major mining projects, including Goldstrike, Antamina, Benga and Las Bambas.
“In particular, my work at Barrick Gold, where I was responsible for resource and reserve modelling of Goldstrike during its critical growth phase, is a great fit for my new role as VP of global exploration and I'm eager to deploy my experience,” commented Kirkland.
Element79 CEO James Tworek said that Kirkland’s knowledge of operations in Nevada and Peru was a good fit for the company.
Element79 Gold has acquired its flagship Maverick Springs project, in Nevada, where it recently completed a 43-101-compliant, pit-constrained mineral resource estimate reflecting an inferred resource of 3.71-million ounces of gold equivalent at a grade of 0.92 g/t.
In British Columbia, Element79 Gold has executed a letter of intent to acquire a private company which holds the option to 100% interest of the Snowbird gold project, which consists of ten mineral claims.
In Peru, Element79 has signed a letter of intent to acquire the business and assets of Calipuy Resources, which holds 100% interest in the past-producing Lucero mine, as well as the past-producing Machacala mine.
