Khnaiguiyah Mining Company, a 50:50 joint venture between Alara and United Arabian Mining Company – a privately owned Saudi Arabian mining company.

Project Description
A definitive feasibility study (DFS), based on currently known Joint Ore Reserve Committee-compliant proved and probable reserves of 26.1-million tonnes, grading at 3.3% zinc and 0.24% copper, has shown that the Khnaiguiyah project could be financially robust.

The DFS envisions a life-of-mine of 13 years at two-million tonnes, with a proposed production of 1.41-million tonnes of zinc concentrate (775 000 t of zinc metal) and 210 000 t of copper concentrate (52 500 t of copper metal), with average concentrate production of 108 000 t/y of zinc and 16 000 t/y of copper.

Planned mining equipment includes two160 t excavators for waste; one 90 t excavator for ore; one 50 t excavator for batter scaling; 23 dump trucks, of which two will haul dry tails; and five drill machines for drilling and blasting.
