Project Description
The project entails the development of a multiproduct pipeline between Eldoret, in Kenya, and Kampala, in Uganda, through Malaba at the border and Jinja, in Uganda, covering 352 km. The pipeline will interconnect with the existing 14-inch-diameter pipeline running from Nairobi to Eldoret and should be able to transport products to and from Kampala and Eldoret, including a spur line to Jinja.
The project will also include a common user depot at the pipeline terminal in Kampala capable of transporting 220 000 ℓ/h.

Kenya and Uganda have revived plans for the multiproduct pipeline.
The two governments have released an expression of interest request, seeking an investor to implement the project.
The project will be developed as a public–private partnership, under a 20-year build, own, operate and transfer arrangement.
Potential bidders were expected to submit their documentation by January 15, 2013.
