Project Description
The project is part of the Jorge Chavez  International Airport expansion plan.

The project provides for the construction of 3 100 m2 of floor space, including the new 65 m, 1 600 m2 tower. Reinforced concrete and steel pillars will be used to build the control tower.

The project includes 1 500 m2 of ancillary buildings, including a services building to support the control tower, and a power switching and transformer building, which will also house the beacon system.

The contract also comprises the construction of a fire-fighting building and a fauna- control unit, which will house birds of prey and other fauna that stray into the airport, as well as the drinking water mains and sewer network.

Latest Developments
Ferrovial Construction, Acciona and local construction company JJC has been selected by LAP to build the control tower at Jorge Chavez  International Airport.

The contract covers all the civil and electromechanical engineering for the tower and its ancillary facilities, as well as all the building’s systems, services and installations. However, it does not include specialised communications, navigation and air traffic control systems.

The project is Ferrovial’s first contract in Peru.
