Despite difficult economic conditions, paired with severe volatility in the exchange rate, JSE-listed information and communications company Jasco returned to profitability in the six months to December 31.

The company on Tuesday said it expected to report revenue growth of between 8% and 13% when it published its interim results on February 10.

The company noted that its first-half performance was pleasing, with the full impact of its restructure benefits starting to flow through. It added that it was well positioned to negotiate the challenging economic conditions that were expected to continue during 2016.

Operating profit for the six months under review was also expected to be 265% to 285% higher than in the previous corresponding period, while earnings a share were expected to be between 760% and 780% higher – at between 5.42c and 5.55c a share – than the 0.63c reported in the previous corresponding period.

Headline earnings a share were also expected to be 730% to 750% higher – at 5.40c and 5.53c a share – than the 0.65c a share in the previous corresponding period.
