PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed junior International Coal has declared an inferred resource of 41-million tonnes at its Bundaberg hard coking coal project, in Queensland.

The inferred resource was obtained through a data sharing arrangement with Fox Resources and recent drilling in the area.

International Coal CEO Glenn Simpson said on Wednesday that the data sharing arrangement with Fox had already helped the company’s understanding of the size of the inferred resource.

“The next step is to firm up our understanding of the working sections and further exploration and development work required to form the building blocks for future mine planning and feasibility studies.”

He added that any decision on the viability of the project would remain subject to the results of the exploration and drilling work, as well as the feasibility studies and environmental-impact assessments.
