Inaugural AIMEX Industry Dinner announced: Keeping Australian mining competitive
Reed Mining Events has announced an exciting new initiative for AIMEX 2013: the inaugural AIMEX Industry Dinner, featuring a panel of industry experts who will examine the competitiveness of the Australian Mining Industry as it faces some fundamental changes and growing international pressures. Asia-Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition – AIMEX is on at the Sydney Showground from August 20-23, 2013 The inaugural AIMEX Industry Dinner will be held on the evening of Tuesday August 20, at the Novotel Hotel, Sydney Olympic Park – and is set to be a highlight of this year’s event. With seating numbers strictly limited, AIMEX 2013 attendees are being urged to book their tickets as soon as possible to avoid missing out.
Guest speakers at the dinner will be:
- Professor Ian Plimer, geologist and a board member of Gina Reinhart’s Roy Hill Holdings
- Alan Broome, chair of Australian mining technology export group, Austmine
- Geoff Knox, CEO of GE Global Mining and GE Transportation Australia & New Zealand
- Paul Mulder, managing director, GVK Hancock Coal and a board member of the Queensland Resources Council.
- All four presenters will participate in a panel discussion on What needs to be done to keep Australia's mining industry competitive in the face of changes and growing pressures internationally.
Between them, they cover a broad cross section of the industry, including:
• Major mining and exploration companies
• The mining equipment, technology and services (METS) sector
• Leading mining equipment and services suppliers
