Human resource management system improves staff productivity

GRENVILLE WILSON Managers have real-time access to all the information on people resource planning information, attendance and performance of duties against weekly or monthly goals
A real-time human resource management system integrates security, attendance and productivity information avail-able within organisations to enable managers to make informed, relevant decisions, says people management specialist company PRP Solutions chairperson Grenville Wilson.
The aim of PRP Solutions is to automatically make data available on staff productivity and performance in real time so that managers can use a single system to manage all employees, whether permanent or temporary.
The PRP system removes noncore work-loads relating to administration-intensive legacy systems, while maintaining oversight of all workers across all work sites of a company.
Companies can incorporate their corpor-ate rules into the PRP Solutions rules engine, resulting in the real-time, automatic implement- ation of all corporate rules relating to company policy and labour legislation to ensure man-agement consistency and compliance.
“The system integrates all human resource management and existing legacy systems that a company may have. It makes all the informa- tion available through its cloud-based report-ing, which is accessible to management on any device, whether a desktop or smartphone,” says Wilson.
By monitoring and controlling overtime, a company can ensure that resources are deployed efficiently without incurring unnecessary costs. Controlling the amount of overtime that each person from the overtime pool has worked ensures that overtime is shared among employees and that overtime costs are closely controlled.
“The PRP Solutions system uses biometric equipment to ensure that time and attendance figures are captured in real time, eliminating the problems of ghost workers, false attendance figures and human error in performance data.”
The system also integrates into a company’s payroll system to automatically update employee remuneration according to their specific remuneration packages and the hours that they worked.
“The PRP Solutions system saves companies money by enabling management to act in real time on variances against budgets as and when they happen.”
Efficient deployment of people resources also eliminates the problem of illegal shifts impacting on safety and security and, in administrative functions, it enables the redeployment of people performing non-productive functions to productive functions, emphasises Wilson.
Managers have real-time access to all the information on people resource planning information, including time and attendance, the performance of duties against weekly or monthly goals and leave history in a single system. This enables them to identify high-performance workers and engage with or train lower-performing workers.
“In parallel to existing legacy systems, all our implementations have demonstrated an improvement in productivity of 10% to 15% or an equal saving in payroll costs,” notes Wilson.
“Performance and productivity are improved by having a holistic view of all workers and performance. The number of calls answered, maintenance jobs completed and hours worked overtime are automatically and instantly com-pared to corporate rules, standards and goals, enabling companies to improve their efficiency by improving the productivity performance of each of their employees while reducing costs.”
