Logistics Hall of Fame  (0.27 MB)

• Historic milestones committee for Logistics Hall of Fame meets at the Federal Transport Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) in Berlin, Germany.
• 22 finalists from five countries nominated.

Berlin/Unterföhring near Munich, June 8, 2016. The finalists for election to the Logistics Hall of Fame have now been decided. At a meeting of the historic milestones committee last Tuesday at the Federal Transport Ministry, the committee nominated 22 individuals from Argentina, Denmark, Germany, Japan and United States out of a total of 32 valid proposals from all over the world. Only the jury has access to the list of candidates, and this list serves as a recommendation to the 56 experts from all fields of logistics who will elect the new member of the Logistics Hall of Fame in the summer.

Traditionally, one only person is inducted into the international pantheon of logistics each year. This year, however, the plan is to induct as many new members as possible. The motto for the 2016 voting period for the Logistics Hall of Fame was "Historic Milestones of Logistics". In October, the Logistics Hall of Fame will announce the name of the leading figures who are to be inducted into the logistics pantheon. The official induction ceremony traditionally takes place during a reception at the Federal Transport Ministry – this year on November 29.

The aim of the Logistics Hall of Fame is to document key milestones in logistics and honour the people behind them, in order to underline the performance capability of logistics and to improve the image of logistics. The initiative is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Transport as well as the relevant sector associations, media and companies, including the Port of Duisburg (duisport), Austrian logistics service provider Gebrüder Weiss, logistics insurer Kravag, the Fahrzeugwerk Bernard Krone company, intralogistics provider Still, the Federal Central Cooperative for Road Transport (SVG) and the TimoCom freight exchange.

The Hall of Fame can be accessed free of charge at any time at www.logisticshalloffame.net and features information and photos on logistics milestones and the people behind them.
