TSX-V-listed Highland Copper Company has announced that the White Pine Copper joint venture (JV) it has with Kinterra Copper has initiated a drilling programme at the White Pine North project, in Michigan.

The drilling is aimed at obtaining material for additional metallurgical and geotechnical test work programmes and will run through the first and second quarters of the year.

The programme involves ten drill holes for a total 6 460 m.

The JV partners are also advancing permitting and engineering studies on the project, as well as environmental compliance requirements and permitting.

“Kinterra has assembled a strong project leadership team to take charge of development of the White Pine North project and is proactively moving it forward. We created the JV to draw on Kinterra’s expertise in permitting and technical studies, in addition to their strong balance sheet.,” says Highland CEO Barry O’Shea.

Highland also continues progressing its 100%-owned Copperwood project, also in Michigan.
