Highland Gold appoints COO

JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Russian gold miner Highland Gold has appointed Anton Kim as first deputy CEO of its Moscow-based management company, Russdragmet.

He will serve as Highland Gold’s COO and will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations at the company's production and development assets.

Kim holds an honours degree in geology and a graduate diploma in engineering science from Lomonosov Moscow State University, as well as an executive MBA from the Skolkovo Moscow School of Management. Prior to joining Highland, he worked at Norilsk Nickel, where he served as group mineral resource management director.

His previous employment includes several senior management positions at Kazakhmys.

Highland has a full-year production guidance of producing 225 000 oz to 265 000 oz of gold.
