San Gregorio, in the Magallanes region, in southern Chile.

Project Owner/s
Renewable-energy company Total Eren.

Project Description
Total Eren has started studies for the development of H2 Magallanes – a large-scale, green hydrogen project.

The project will comprise 10 GW of wind installed capacity, together with up to 8 GW of electrolysis capacity, a desalination plant, an ammonia plant and port facilities to transport the green ammonia to national and international markets.

The facility will generate 47 000 GWh/y and produce 800 000 t/y of hydrogen.

Further, 4.4-million tonnes of ammonia a year are expected to be exported. Five-million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions are also expected to be avoided every year.
