Project Description
The proposed project involves the construction, operation and maintenance of a 100 MW run-of-the-river hydropower plant under a build, own, operate, and transfer scheme, 167 km east of Islamabad, in Pakistan. The project will exploit the water resources of the Poonch river for power generation. It will require the construction of a weir on the Poonch river, downstream of its confluence with the Bann Nullah river.
The dam will create a reservoir in the Poonch river and the Bann Nullah river, with a volume of 21.9-million cubic metres. The water from the reservoir will be diverted to a 3.1 km head race tunnel.

The project is estimated at $340-million.
