Location
Gulf of El Zayt, along the banks of the Gulf of Suez, in Egypt.

Project Owner/s
Red Sea Wind Energy comprising Toyota Tsusho, Eurus Energy, Engie (France), a construction company and Orascom Construction.

Project Description
The project involves the construction of an estimated 500 MW wind farm comprising 84 six megawatt stations.

The project will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about one-million tons a year.

The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company will buy the electricity produced.

The project is estimated at $660-million.

Planned Start/End Date
Construction of the power plant started in March 2023 and will reach commercial operation in August 2025. The plant will be operated for 25 years thereafter.
