Project Description
The project involves the upgrade of the backbone of Enbridge’s natural-gas distribution system in the GTA.
The GTA project will provide upgrades for the natural-gas distribution system that supplies natural gas to Brampton, Mississauga, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Markham and Toronto.
The new pipeline will comprise two separate segments – Segment A will consist of a 42-inch-diameter pipeline and Segment B of a 36-inch-diameter pipeline. They will be located mainly in existing utility corridors to minimise disruption in the community. The pipeline will also be connected to an existing underground distribution system that delivers natural gas to homes and businesses in the GTA.
The pipeline will be an estimated 23 km in total. Two new pressure-regulation facilities will connect the new pipelines to the existing system. There will also be an upgrade to an existing pressure facility at Jonesville station.
