Project Description
The first phase of the project involved the construction of a 20-million-litre-a-day water treatment plant, three booster pumpstations with appurtenant electrical connections, a 2.5-million-litre concrete reservoir at Zimele, two 250 000 ℓ concrete balancing tanks and one 100 000 ℓ concrete reservoir, all pipeworks associated with the structures, earthworks, and a civil services pumpstation/reservoir site. The greater Mthonjaneni bulk water project – Phase 2 will supply water to parts of the uMfolozi, Mthonjaneni and Natambanana local municipalities from the Phobane lake, in KZN.
