Project Description
The proposed project involves the construction and operation of up to 33 wind turbines, generating up to 99 MW of electricity, at the Granville farm, about 25 km north-west of Zeehan.
The project includes the construction of an 11 km transmission line from the wind farm to the Reece dam and associated electrical infrastructure, as well as operation of three level 2-sized on-site quarries to supply construction materials.
Value
The project is estimated at $200-million.
Duration
Construction of the wind farm is expected to start in June 2015 and take about 18 to 24 months.
Transmission line construction will start after the completion of the site and civil works, and is expected to take 12 to 18 months to complete.
Latest Developments
Westcoast Wind has received approvals from the Australian government’s Environment Protection Agency to build the Granville wind farm.
