PERTH (miningweekly.com) – First gold has been poured at the Granny Venn opencut mine, in Western Australia, just days after the start of a toll milling campaign.

The first gold pour included a combination of gold recovered from elution and gravity circuits, ASX-listed Energy & Resources told shareholders. The bar weighed some 23 kg, or 811 oz of gold.

Ore production at Granny Venn started in August, and Energy & Resources is targeting a near-term production of about 120 000 t of ore, at 2.3 g/t gold for 8 800 oz of gold over a five-year period.
