Latest Developments
Siemens Canada has received an order from Samsung Renewable Energy and Pattern Energy Group for the Grand Renewable Energy Park’s wind component of the project.

Under the agreement, Siemens will supply, deliver and commission 67 units of its SWT-2.3-101 wind turbines. The deal also includes a three-year service and maintenance agreement.

As part of the commitment to the green energy economy in the province of Ontario, the wind turbine blades for the project will be manufactured at the Siemens facility in Tillsonburg, Ontario; towers and steel for the turbines will be sourced from local suppliers. The nacelles and hubs will be supplied by the company’s nacelle assembly plant in Kansas, in the US.

Meanwhile, Canadian Solar Solutions has begun construction of the 100 MW utility-scale solar farm.
The solar power plant will include about 440 000 Canadian Solar CS6X high-performance modules.
