"Shortages of physical gold now a global phenomenon", and other headlines like, “just what’s going on with the gold missing in this vault" and that vault have been blazing an Internet trail. Reportedly half empty gold vaults turned to talk of an imminent silver squeeze and growing supply issues with gold and silver coins and bars. Smaller dealers were said to be bereft of stocks and queries arose about the warehoused eligible gold of one firm falling from a nigh two-million gold ounces last year to 400 000 oz now. Questions about the gold, or lack of it, in Fort Knox resurfaced as gold futures fell, rose and fell again on the US Comex. While never-say-die gold bulls continue to predict much higher price levels to come, it is the bears that continue to call the shots currently, and how!
