Gold Road sets aside A$10m for WA spend
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Junior explorer Gold Road Resources has set aside A$10-million to spend on exploration during 2016 across the Yamarna belt, in Western Australia.
The exploration programmes would target the discovery of additional multimillion-ounce gold deposits on Gold Road’s North Yamarna tenements and the South Yamarna tenements it holds in a joint venture with Sumitomo Metal Mining Oceania.
The junior has previously defined a 5.6-million-ounce resource at its Gruyere deposit, which was discovered in the South Dorothy Hills Camp in North Yamarna in 2013, and studies were progressing with the aim of bringing the Gruyere project into production in 2018.
“The development of Gruyere is continuing according to plan and we look forward to presenting the results of the completed prefeasibility study this quarter,” said executive director Justin Osborne.
“There remains excellent potential for more million‐ounce-sized discoveries across the Yamarna belt and we will continue to take a systematic approach throughout 2016 to assess the six camp scale targets we have identified as being the most prospective.”
