Electricite de France (EDF) chairperson Henri Proglio and Vincent de Rivaz, the CEO of the group’s UK unit, EDF Energy, at a news conference called to announce a deal to construct the first new nuclear power station in the UK in a generation. EDF, together with Areva, of France, China General Nuclear Power Corporation and China National Nuclear Corporation, will construct the plant at Hinkley Point, in the south-west of England, after reaching a deal on the strike price with the UK government.
