Project Description
The project involves the development of a 108 MW gas-fired reciprocating engine power plant on a 15-year build, own, and operate basis in Ghorashal, Narsingdi.

The project will be developed on a 2 ha site previously used as farmland, and will comprise 34 individual reciprocating engine generators; a 1.7 km 230 kV transmission line from the project site to the Bangladesh Power Development Board’s Ghorashal substation; and a 1.5 km gas pipeline from the existing gas pipeline grid to the project site.

The project is estimated at $82.8-million

Duration
Construction started in September 2012 and the project is expected to start operating in late 2013.
